The matching observations table lists all of the extant and planned observations in the database that satisfy your search criteria. Extant observations will have a nonzero value in the 'Total Exposure Time' and/or 'GR4 Archival Exposure Time' columns. Data for observations released as part of GR4 are available for download from MAST.
Please note that GR5 is now available and includes significant additional observations which are not reflected in this column. The observations in the GR5 delivery will be updated in TOAST at some time in the near future; we apologize for the inconvenience to proposers.
Proposers for Cycle 6 of the GALEX GI program should assume that the exposure time given in the 'Total Exposure Time' column will be available from MAST in GR6 around the beginning of Cycle 6 (1 January 2010) and should plan their proposals accordingly.
The 'Planned Exposure Time' column can be used to determine if further observations are planned. If the column has 'completed' or is less then the 'Total Exposure Time' then no further observations are planned. If the value is non zero and greater then the 'Total Exposure Time' then further observations are likely to be scheduled to achieve the 'Planned Exposure Time'.
Observations which have resulted in an overcountrate shutdown of the FUV and/or NUV detector will have 'shutdown' highlighted in pink. Observations that overlap these 'shutdown' fields will not be accepted for GI observations despite passing the Brightness Checker test; the sky plot will show these 'shutdown' positions as red-hatched.
The 'Number of Visits' column (advanced options) tabulates the number of separate exposures that comprise the 'Total Exposure Time' column.
Consult the sky plot for a map of the region of the sky that circumscribes the position component of your query with matching archival observations that satisfy the optics wheel and survey type components of your query.
